Man — for the first time in about a year, callaloo and papaya pie overtook the Italian chocolate cookies as the most visited post! It’s been a lurker for a while; finally made the surge! That pie was amazing, and the callaloo was pretty good, if a bit bland – needed a little kick: Maybe some spice, or a salt lick, salt pork… Something… Farofa — i’d forgotten how good that stuff is.
A better stew was the calulu, with all its odd permutations and all: Dende made it, farofa capped it. The Muamba de galinha was darn good too — with the boiled brains that brings the scattered hits from amazon. C’est amuse.
