Breakfast sandwich of the week

20131111_074959There really is no comparison for the Brinery tempeh…  It doesn’t even need to be soaked — flavor’s fine straight from the wrapper, and the creaminess is something wonderful.

Sandwich is marinated tempeh with spinach, tomato and pickle, on a pita with special sauce!

Marinade is Braggs, sesame oil, a little rice vinegar, liquid smoke, agave, ground black pepper and chipotle powder.  After a brief soak on either side, the strips are seared and served.

Sauce is tofutti, tahini and (t)habenero sauce, mixed then spread on the bread.

Total preparation time is under ten minutes easily and under 5 with a little motivation.
